Regular readers of Masters of the Marching Arts are familiar with the fact that the Hanover Lancers Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps holds an annual indoor show that has grown over the years. On Saturday, April 20th, we will hold our 11th annual show.
Larry Hershman retired his very successful Harrisburg Forum indoor show some years back and graciously handed his mailing list to the Lancers. After a few years in high school auditoriums, we moved to what is known as the Pullo Center Theater on the grounds of Penn State University’s York campus. The theater is acoustically engineered with the best of them, which allows for drum corps to play in their customary fashion without having to provide two aspirin with each ticket!
This year, the Central York Middle School Fife & Drum Corps will be on the bill. The group is one of the very few public school fife & drum corps in the country. And what better way to display the gamut of fife & drum corps on one program than to have the U.S. Army’s Old Guard Fife & Drum Corps come later in the program!
In between these groups we have the ever-popular Reading Buccaneers Alumni, Hawthorne Caballeros Alumni, Brig Juice Brass, and a special appearance by the York YMCA Temple Guard.
The show will be capped off with a performance by the Hanover Lancers.
Tickets are still available. Go to the Pullo Center website, https://pullocenter.york.psu.edu/, and you will be directed to our ticket page. The Ticketmaster fee can be saved by calling the box office, buying your tickets directly with the Pullo Center, then having the tickets placed on “Will Call”. Beware that the show starts fairly early – a 6 PM start.
